Dr. Diana Leung has published an article on the A&S Teaching Hub providing advice on ways to provide hand written notes during virtual lectures.  Like many chemistry instructors, Dr. Leung’s classes rely heavily on hand written notes to illustrate chemical structures and work problems during class.  When classes moved online in the spring due to COVID-19, the challenge was to find a way to provide students this experience in a virtual way.  Using an iPad as a writing tablet and some inexpensive apps, Dr. Leung is able to provide hand written notes to classes via platforms, such as Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.
