Dr. Mark Griep from The University of Nebraska – Lincoln will present a special seminar entitled “Everything I Know About Chemistry, I Learned at the Movies.”

Abstract

Did you know that Hollywood loves chemistry or that some of the biggest actors have portrayed chemists? In this presentation, you’ll watch a collection of movie clips that Dr. Griep uses to teach chemistry. Each clip is followed by an explanation whether the chemistry in the movie is real or fake. It turns out the chemistry is usually described correctly!
