Joseph Meany Places in UA 3MT Finals

Graduate student Joseph Meany placed third in the UA Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.  His presentation was entitled, “Molecular Circuitry: The Little Things that Matter.”  Joseph’s PhD advisor is Dr. Stephen Woski.  The 3MT competition is a national event in which PhD students attempt to distill the essence of their dissertation into a 3 minute presentation designed to engage a non-specialist audience.  The competition began with department-level competitions followed by a semifinal competition at the University level.  Joseph was one of fifteen finalists.  Also competing in the semifinals was Pandora White with a presentation entitled, “Chromium (III): Potential Colorectal Cancer Treatment?”  Pandora’s research is directed by Prof. John Vincent.
