The University, College of Arts and Sciences, and Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry recognize exceptional work by undergraduate students via annual awards. Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry

The Outstanding General Chemistry Student Award is to recognize outstanding first year chemistry students.  In order to qualify, a student must have outstanding overall scholastic credentials and grades of A in freshman chemistry, mathematics and any other physical and biological science courses completed.

The American Institute of Chemists Award is to honor an outstanding senior majoring in chemistry and is given in recognition of the potential advancement of the chemical profession through this student’s demonstrated record of leadership, ability, character, and scholastic achievement.  In order for a student to qualify, he/she must be a senior chemistry major with at least a B average. The candidates must also be planning to follow a career in chemistry.
