NOBCChE and CGSO Students Night at the Museum

On Saturday, February 7, 2015 the Chemistry Graduate Student Organization (CGSO) and the UA chapter of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) joined forces to represent the Department of Chemistry at the 4th Annual Night at the Museum. The Graduate Student Association (GSA), The Graduate School, The Museum of Natural History, and Graduate Parent Support hold this event annually to show children what graduate students do. The event was held in Smith Hall, the home of the Museum of Natural History. More than 500 people attended the event. The CGSO/NOBCChE had an interactive demo room where various experiments where performed with children in order to engage them in the field of chemistry. Graduate students that participated were Carl St. Louis, Jessica Gray, Tabitha Sutch, Dalton Burks, Dayne Fraser, Joseph Meany and Pandora White.
